You know it's possible to admit that something is terrible and enjoy that same thing because it's terrible, right? Granted, it doesn't work with everything - food, for example. No one's like "man, this burger tastes like shit, but it's so bad that I need to keep eating it to see just how bad it can get". Just - shut up and watch it once, alright. You're performative.
[ he's kidding - mostly. ]
Uh. Yeah, actually. That's pretty close. Overshot it by like a year but. Nailed it, I guess.
you wouldn't eat a burger just to see how bad it gets?
[ billy would. hell, marcus might, if he's alone. he supposes, either way, stiles has disproved his point. calling him performative makes him feel kind of raw, because of course he's fucking performative, so. moving on. ]
do you feel at all put off when you meet someone here who comes from your future? there's something more discordant to me in knowing you than in knowing, like, someone who can travel through space, or someone who comes from another planet entirely. the difference between us feels real. believable. grounded, but still insane. it's. i don't know. i don't know why we're here.
Why eat a bad burger when I can just eat a good one? And before you say it, no, the same thing doesn't apply to watching movies. We covered this two seconds ago.
[ points to eyes points to you. don't do it. ]
"Put off" isn't how I'd put it. I think I know what you're saying though. But I've always just kind of gone off the assumption that no one is really from the same place. I mean, obviously people who know each other are, or might be Like, I know my boyfriend and I are from the same place, but we're not from the same times in our history, so that always kind of throws me off when I think about it too much because I can't like... make it make sense in a way that makes... sense. Which didn't make sense. But anyway. We might both be from Earth, right? I mean, we are both from Earth. But does you running into me, someone who isn't even alive yet when you're from, change the course of history? Does that mean time isn't linear? Are we then still from the same Earth, or does that create an alternate reality/universe?
[ stiles, what the fuck are you even talking about anymore? ]
Sorry. What I mean is I've had some time to think about it, so. It's not really that weird to me. Not as weird as it used to be.
